Nassau to Norman's Cay

Leaving Nassau, we sailed to the chain of islands called, Exumas. Stopping first at Norman’s Cay, made famous by a Columbian drug lord that used the area for years to stage shipments of drugs into the USA. It was only brought to light when Walter Cronkite sailed into the bay and was confronted by gun-toting thugs who prevented him from anchoring there. When Walter returned to the States, he made a lot of noise about this and eventually, the Military went in and evicted the drug runners. The remains of the little drug resort (headquarters) remain, and a few residents that live in the northern tip. It is a beautiful protected anchorage. The morning we left, there were 35 boats at anchor. A little crowded.
